Interesting that you mention about Australia, it seems that the commodities firms out there are worth keeping an eye on.
Editor's Comment: It is hard not to agree! With the population of the world increasing by something in the region of 90 million people per year, and there are already resource shortages, it seems reasonable to presume that in time there will be more.
In theory though, this will relate to more than simply energy - food and water may become major problems as well. This will provide investment opportunities for sure, but almost certainly difficult times for humanity as well.
Some of my own experience in this topic came from attendance at an agricultural conference in Brussels. It is an interesting, eye-opening and somewhat frightening topic...
